POM is an abbreviation for the chemical name polyoxymethylene, commonly known as polyoxymethylene, or formaldehyde resin. It is a crystalline thermoplastic resin mainly composed of (- CH2O -) structural units.
POM includes homopolymers composed of molecular chains of polyoxymethylene formed by formaldehyde, and copolymers formed by trimers of formaldehyde such as trioxycyclohexane and ethylene oxide.
